Laura and Eric’s engagement session at Wissahickon Valley Park in Philadelphia was an adventure filled with natural beauty and lots of love. Living nearby, the park is not just a stunning backdrop for photographs but a place of significance for the couple and their well-behaved dog, Jax, who enjoys their weekly hikes through the area.
Weather Challenges Turned Perfect Timing
After a weekend of rain, the uncertainty about our scheduled shoot had me frequently checking the weather. Fortunately, the skies cleared beautifully, setting the stage for a perfect evening shoot. We started at their apartment and made our way to the trails, aiming to reach their favorite bridge by sundown.
Capturing Moments at the Golden Hour
The timing couldn’t have been better. As we reached the bridge, Laura and Eric quickly changed outfits, and we captured some truly magical moments during the golden hour. The energy between them was palpable, making it easy to capture their love and happiness in front of the camera.
An Unforgettable Hike Back
The hike back was an adventure in itself—it was completely dark! Guided only by the light of our phone flashlights, and impressively, Laura managed it all in heels! It was a new and memorable experience for me, hiking in the dark after such a fantastic photo session.
Enchanting Locations Along Wissahickon Trail
Wissahickon Valley Park is a treasure trove of scenic spots, ideal for engagement photos. Every turn on the trail presented a new opportunity for beautiful portraits. This was my first time shooting there, but it definitely won’t be my last. I'm already looking forward to returning to this picturesque location.
