Over the years, Shannon and I have shared more than just friendship; our life journeys have mirrored each other in the most remarkable ways. From marrying around the same time to having our first and now second babies within months of each other, it's been a joy to experience these milestones together. Our firstborn daughters are inseparable, and we’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of our second children, hoping for a smooth transition into this new chapter.
A Casual, Personal Maternity Shoot
For Shannon’s maternity session, we kept it low-key and flexible, deciding to have the shoot in my backyard. Admittedly, I was feeling a bit off due to the daylight savings change, and knowing that Shannon's husband isn't keen on photos, we aimed for simplicity to make everyone comfortable. The main challenge was keeping their energetic daughter engaged, as she was more interested in playing than posing.
Natural Poses and Genuine Moments
Despite these hurdles, the session unfolded beautifully. We focused on capturing Shannon in natural, relaxed poses that reflect her true essence. The results are stunning—the calm and loving atmosphere of that evening shines through in each photo, highlighting Shannon's grace and anticipation as she awaits baby boy Mackenzie.
